CUCS Variety Show 2015
28 February

“Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone”

And yet, in that beautiful evanescence, the spectrum of life is scattered into its magnificent colours, colours of comedy, tragedy, drama, and love.

An ambitious actor joins a theatre competition for what could be the biggest breakthrough in his career yet. But first, he must assemble a crew to help him win. Enter the ragtag team of aspirants: an awkwardly charming singer not-so-secretly infatuated with him, a trustworthy director, an unabashed womaniser, and a materialistic daughter of a tycoon.

Star, Chariot, Hermit, Moon, and Magician. Fate has brought the disparate characters into a collision course. But will they be weaved into a beautiful story, or be shattered in a heartbreaking tragedy?

ALSO featuring performances such as Concentus, dance groups, rock bands and more!

Tennis Workshop
24 November

At Cambridge we have not exactly been blessed with sporting aptitude. I remember the first time I kicked a ball forwards, it was a good day, I was so proud of myself, it was the first time I did something co-ordinated.

But now we have someone actually decent at sports within our ranks, in fact she's so decent she has a world ranking in tennis, and she's also very nice.

It's therefore my pleasure to announce the CUCS Tennis Workshop, which will be run by Venise Chan, our resident tennis pro who's kindly gi...ving up two hours of her Sunday to run this workshop for us.

Click 'Going' on this event if you'd like to come - I'm sure you do (Please do notify us, if you will need to borrow a racket)

Nottingham Games
16 November

This is like a massive HK reunion in Nottingham, which I'm told has a beautiful campus, also there is a CHEERLEADING competition, obviously we can't enter but at least we can go and look at the scenery at the other lesser institutions in the UK and cry about the lack of scenery here.

If you have mates at other unis, you probably don't because you're antisocial enough to come here, but on the off chance you do get your friends to go support their friends and you can all bond together again, come on girls I know you love this sort of stuff.

Early morning but you can deal with that, go and have a bit of fun, spaces are limited though so get in touch with me if you're not a participant but you'd love to come and cheer us on.

OCamp will not define your three-year university life at Cambridge but it is definitely an excellent starting point. Going to the Annual Dinners and careers workshop are simply not enough. – OCamp is our biggest event in the summer and it is where friendships, chisoc family linkages and even relationships begin.

You can expect to have a really fun and restless time at OCamp and from experience it will also be invaluable in terms of allowing you to settle in at Cambridge right away, given the number of friends you will make during OCamp. We promise it will be a once in a lifetime experience and guarantee that you will have absolutely no regrets by attending!

CUCS X CCS Chinese New Year Dinner

Nothing quite matches the verve of Chinese New Year celebrations: as the most important celebration of the Lunar Calendar, it’s been described as an auspicious festival quiet with the hope of good fortune, complete with the marvel of firecrackers and dragon dances. Although we can’t promise a spectacle or a huge procession, do come join us for a cozy dinner at Charlie Chan as we welcome the Year of the Snake by guzzling the wine and tucking into authentic, sumptuous Chinese food as part of our traditional festivities here at Cambridge.

What better ways are there to celebrate your New Year than being entertained by our own very best leng jai Joe Hon who would be playing interactive games with you throughout the night. The winner will also be given a red packet!
Lucky draw prizes also include an electric hot pot & grill cooker, and many more !
